Terms of Service

These terms are short and written in plain language. By using AirwayControl, you agree to them. They apply together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA), which governs your licence to use the app; where the two disagree about that licence, the Standard EULA applies.
The AirwayControl subscription
AirwayControl is used with one auto-renewable subscription, bought inside the app through the App Store. There are no tiers and no features sold separately: the subscription opens the whole app, and without an active subscription or free trial the app shows only the subscription screen. That screen shows the price and the period before you confirm.
- Free trial. A new subscriber gets 7 days free. When the trial ends, the subscription continues as a paid monthly subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The trial is offered once per Apple Account.
- Price. The subscription costs 29 NOK a month in Norway. In other countries it costs the equivalent price Apple sets for your country and currency, including any taxes. The exact price in your currency is shown in the app and on Apple's purchase sheet before you confirm.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or, if you start with the free trial, when the trial ends.
- Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for another month at the same price unless automatic renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the whole app until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. A period that has started is not refunded, and the unused part of a cancelled period is not refunded, except where the law of your country requires it. Payments are handled by Apple, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes. If the price changes, Apple tells you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before the new price applies.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. How purchase data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
The app is provided as-is
AirwayControl is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work hard to keep it accurate and reliable, but we cannot promise that it always will be, and we are not liable for losses or damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
Flight data can be wrong or delayed
Aircraft positions, schedules, routes, gate/stand positions and other flight details come from community and public data sources, including community ADS-B networks, Avinor, adsbdb, AeroDataBox, and OpenStreetMap (gate, stand and airport-layout data, © OpenStreetMap contributors). Data from these sources is used under their respective licenses, including the Open Database License (ODbL) where noted on our Data & Credits page. This data can be incomplete, delayed, or simply wrong. Never use AirwayControl for operational, navigation, or safety decisions. The app is for information and entertainment only.
Claim letters are not legal advice
The app can help you draft a compensation or baggage claim to your airline. It is a form filler, not a claims service: it charges no fee, sends nothing on your behalf, and does not promise that a claim will succeed or state an amount you are owed. What it shows is information, not legal advice.
Not an official aviation service
AirwayControl is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any air navigation service provider, airline, or airport. Nothing in the app is real air traffic control communication.
Photos and data belong to their sources
Aircraft photos are © their respective photographers, provided via Planespotters.net. Flight data remains subject to the licenses of its providers. The full list is on our Data & Credits page.
The service may change or stop
Features may change, break, or be discontinued at any time, and data providers may alter or withdraw their feeds. If these terms change, the updated version will appear on this page with a new date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law.
